The mission of the Regional Museum of Daimiel is the conservation and exhibition of objects from the past related to Daimiel and its surroundings and the dissemination of the message that these objects transmit to all those who visit us.

From the Museum we try to fulfil the objectives and functions included in the definition of Museum: "A museum is a permanent, non-profit institution, at the service of society and open to the public, which acquires, conserves, studies, exhibits and disseminates the tangible and intangible heritage of humanity for the purposes of study, education and recreation". This definition, which has changed over time and has adapted to changes in society, was adopted in 2007 at the 22nd General Conference of ICOM, and is considered a reference within the international community.

The Museum is responsible for the acquisition, conservation, cataloguing, research, communication and orderly exhibition of the collections, as well as the development of didactic activity with respect to their contents.
